Timothy “Prince T Dub” Wilson
The hilarious, creative and multi-talented Timothy Wilson was born June 28, 1991 on Chicago’s Southside. From an early age Tim knew he was destined to be an entertainer and would bring laughter into the lives of others. At the age of ten he proved that his ambitions just may be true as he gathered younger members of his family to act out his original scenes inspired by the Maury Show.
Though calm compared to other Southside blocks of Chicago, Tim’s own Southside neighborhood had its fair share of trouble creep up and unfortunately Tim was not immune to falling into its traps. Almost enough traps to completely derail his destiny. In school, Tim got caught constantly skipping classes and gambling. Fearing his life was going in the wrong direction the decision was made the he would follow his big brother, Terrance Wilson, and attend Lincoln Challenge Academy, a military school in Illinois.
While there he made a decision to continue to follow his brother’s footsteps and one day join the Navy, but that was until tragedy struck. Under suspicious circumstances, Tim’s brother passed away while serving in the Navy on July 12th of 2006. Devastated by the loss of his brother, combined with the military’s unwillingness to answer his family’s questions regarding the death, the Navy was no longer an option for Tim. Unsure of the next step, Tim resorted to what he knew best: Bringing joy to others through entertainment.
Inspired by watching television shows starring and produced by Tyler Perry, Tim started writing and sharing his own stories with others. Tim was constantly rewarded with high praise for his work, but this was never enough. It instead created a desire to bring his characters and his stories to life. His journey to achieving this new goal started when he was 15 years old, when he was approached by a well-known producer, Donte. Donte saw in Tim something special. Not just another good looking kid surrounded by girls and could possibly have a shot at stardom, but instead a boy who was destined to be a superstar. A superstar who today, the world knows as Timothy “Prince T Dub” Wilson.
Rising to become an internet sensation and actor took some time and jumping over some obstacles, but nothing Tim couldn’t overcome. It took a few years before Donte could properly envision how Tim needed to be introduced to the world, but he found the perfect place in the webseries, The ReAwakening, a teenage drama. Even a flat tire on the way to the audition didn’t stop the future Prince of Chicago. He quickly threw on a spare and made it in time for the audition to win the lead role of “Chris” on the show. Though this victory was short lived, it catapulted Tim into a new and exciting opportunity with GBV Entertainment that would raise his profile and give him the opportunity have creative control over his future.
When Tim made the decision to move forward in his calling, even greater opportunities began to come his way. In addition to starring as the much loved and hilarious O.G. Granny in his web series, “All About Chris,” Tim has most recently finished shooting a film in Santiago, Dominican Republic called 420 in Santiago.
